âAbout 95% of the world's mimosa production comes from the region between Nice (FR) and San Remo (IT),â explains Greenflorâs buyer and sourcing expert, Marc van Graas. The mimosa towns of PĂŠgomas and Mandelieu-la-Napoule are hotspots on the CĂ´te d'Azur, where the FĂŞte du Mimosa annually attracts thousands of tourists. Alongside Marc, we drive through this beautiful landscape, seeking grower Jean Pierre Reynaud of J.P.R. Productions. His farm, once started small by his mother, has grown into the largest mimosa farm in France and now supplies a significant portion of our exclusive flower offerings.Â

J.P.R. Productions is a family business that has existed for over 100 years. Through smart innovations, such as shipping in water instead of boxes and offering custom orders, the company has become a pioneer. Despite automation, mimosa is still hand-picked. The family even has its own museum, celebrating the history of these fragrant flowers with products like perfumes and candles.Â

a golden harvest
Today, the farm covers about 25 hectares of mimosa trees and various types of eucalyptus, such as cinerea, populus, and gunni. The trees, which are pruned back every year, yield more than 100 tons of golden mimosa and 100 tons of fragrant eucalyptus each season. Jean Pierreâs team of 10 experts selects the best branches each year. The mimosa season is short, lasting from January until International Womenâs Day in March, but during this time, immense quantities of mimosa are harvested and sold through our flower wholesale.Â
