More than just pretty
As the name 'ornamental pea' suggests, peas (seeds) grow on the plant. These seeds differ considerably from the edible peas we know. Lathyrus belongs to the butterfly family and there are at least 100 different varieties of this beautiful flower.
Innovations in growth and care
During a recent visit to Laurens' nursery, Greenflor reviewed the latest innovations in growing Lathyrus. The introduction of pink LED lights promotes growth and strengthens the plant, allowing the first flowers to be harvested two weeks earlier than with traditional methods. This technology also gives the leaves a deeper green colour, further enhancing the visual appeal of the plant.
