Pampas grass (Cortaderia), gets its name from the region where it originally grows: the Pampas region in southern South America. In the 1970s, ornamental pampas grass was also planted in Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand. Greenflor also sees the decorative added value of Cortaderia. How to best care for pampas grass?

The most important tip when caring for pampas grass is to keep the stems out of direct sunlight. Another care tip is to shake the panicles outside to release all the loose panicles. You can then cut the plumes to the desired length and carefully arrange them as you see fit. Is the pampas grass standing all to your liking? Then it is a good idea to mist them with hairspray so that everything stays in place.

How long does pampas grass stay beautiful?

Depending on the conditions in which the pampas grass is kept, most panicles last about 3 years. At the end of their lifecycle, the panicles often lose a little volume. You can minimise this effect by not putting the pampas grass too close to a window or directly in sunlight.
