It all started when René, based in Achtmaal, discovered that the oak leaves on his land, once used for cattle, had much more value than he thought. Over the years, René developed a close relationship with our wholesale flower specialist Gerard de Ruijter. Together, they perfected the way oak leaves were offered at the auction, from bunches of 20 branches to the ideal lengths. This collaboration of more than 30 years has led to an exclusive product that is now indispensable in our autumn range.

René starts working on the carefully maintained 7-hectare field in mid-August. For Quercus Rubra, it takes two years before the first harvest, and even three years for Quercus Palustris. A field typically lasts 15 years, with some exceptions that have been in use for 24 years. René's secret? Letting nature take its course. This makes oak leaf a sustainable, eco-friendly choice for florists accessories wholesale and buy flowers wholesale.

During the peak season, which runs from mid-August to early November, sales are lightning-fast. Within 24 hours of harvesting, the oak leaves are taken to the auction and sold. Thanks to these efficient logistics, the leaves retain their freshness and quality.
