The location of this nursery in San Remo is perfect for growing exotic anemones. Italy provides a fertile environment where anemones thrive, especially in regions such as Liguria, Tuscany, and Sicily. The well-drained soil and mild humidity create the ideal growing conditions.
The greenhouses are simple: wooden poles up to 1.80 meters high, protected by special cloth. This setup ensures the anemones receive just the right amount of fresh mountain air and Italian sunshine needed for optimal quality and vibrant colors. At this nursery, everything is done by hand. From sowing and nurturing to harvesting the flowers, nothing is automated. The nursery covers an impressive 20 hectares of mountain land and produces not only anemones but also ranunculus, peonies, and poppies. Grower Steffano, a true artisan, has a dedicated team of 18 employees who care for the flowers with passion and expertise. Our flower wholesale supplier, Marc van Graas, discusses the quality, logistics, and prices of these exclusive flowers with Steffano. Meanwhile, we admire the careful work of the local team, who lovingly tend to each flower.

During our tour, we discover special varieties of eucalyptus being tested at the nursery, and we pass rows of emerging peony plants. In a special greenhouse, an experienced worker carefully inspects new flowers and plants. Here, new varieties of anemones are being developed, including the anemone Levante, a new variety with a double heart and distinctive leaves. This type of anemone has the potential to become a popular addition to our exclusive flower selection.
