A thriving conifer farm
Wim and Peter proudly manage a beautiful conifer nursery in picturesque Loosdrecht, which they bought in 1999. Thanks to Wim’s entrepreneurial spirit and constant search for challenges, they started expanding and were able to buy a piece of leasehold land on the other side of the village. This brings the total land area of the nursery to 7.5 hectares. A huge sea of green conifers, Thujopsis, Filifera and other beautiful cut foliage!
Exclusive conifer offerings
What really sets this nursery apart is its impressive selection of as many as 30 different species of conifers and other cut greens, perfect for fall arrangements and Christmas bouquets. Their range includes the most exclusive greenery in Europe, and perhaps even the world. From Elegans to Filifera and Blue de Luxe. Especially during the Christmas period, these cut greens are very popular, as florists can use them to create beautiful Christmas arrangements. Wim and his team are constantly innovating and experimenting with new, exotic types of greenery to keep their assortment unique.
The three most popular greens are undoubtedly the Filifera, a threadlike conifer. With this, florists have many options for variety. The Elegans conifer is also indispensable, with its beautiful color and suitability for Christmas bouquets. In addition, the Blue de Luxe is gorgeous for Christmas arrangements and adding luxurious accents.

Imports and Sustainability
The conifers are lovingly maintained year-round by Wim, Peter and Friso. The peak season runs from September to mid-December, when seasonal workers come to help prune. They prune only the long branches of the trees, leaving the shorter branches intact for the next year. This allows them to enjoy the same trees and shrubs longer in a sustainable way. Much of the conifer assortment is imported from Taiwan, as the Netherlands and Taiwan have similar maritime climates. This makes it possible for these greens to grow and flourish in the Netherlands as well. The farm is completely energy-neutral and aims to become completely organic in the future.
Greenflor’s buyer and green specialist Gerard de Ruijter has been buying from green nursery Andromeda for more than 30 years, first under the previous owners and now for 24 years with Wim and Peter. The cooperation between grower and buyer is extremely smooth. The various greens quickly find their way to Greenflor – often not even reaching the auction floor. In the high season, as many as 20 carts a week go to the auction. A wonderful addition to importer and exporter Greenflor’s autumn and Christmas assortment!
